Representations of Croatia, Hungary, Russia and Norway played the pre-tournament this weekend, 17th and 18th of June at the Jarun Lake. In other words, these were the last preparation matches before the EURO which will start in two days.
Croatian women’s team used this tournament for the last check before the upcoming European Championship. Player Mirna Vučković said: „The result is not as important as getting the good vibes between teammates. We are satisfied and optimistic and our goal is reached the quarter-finals. If we can do that, everything is possible.“
Russian player Ekaterina Barkalova said: „This will be my first EURO and also my first time in Croatia. I’m a bit nervous so it was great we had pre-tournament to get rid of the nervousness. Our pre-tournament was very good and a great practice. Although we lost two games, we know we will be better when it will be for real. It’s great that we played against Hungary, the team we will be meeting throughout the Championship“.
The Europen Championship will start in two days, on Tuesday, 22th of June.
